Author Spotlights

SpecFicPick is committed to spreading the word about great speculative fiction. If you are an author or publisher, we will consider posting an Author Spotlight for you. This will include a short interview, a description of your book and links to your website as well as your book's product pages on Amazon and B&N. Your book must meet the following requirements:

1. It must be speculative fiction. This includes (but is not limited to) science fiction, fantasy, horror*, weird fiction, alternate history, supernatural/paranormal and magic realism. *Note: Not all horror is speculative. Please do not submit a story (a psycho killer/slasher story, for example) unless it contains elements that make it speculative. Please read "What is Speculative Fiction?" Please no porn/erotica.

2. It must be available as an eBook from Amazon. The Amazon US store will be the primary link provided to readers.

3. Your book must be written in English.

4. Books must pass a sample reading. Books which are poorly formatted or contain a high number of errors may be rejected. Please read "Book Feature Submission Requirements (Expanded)" to ensure that your book will not be rejected on these grounds. Judgement will not be made based on writing style.

Short stories are acceptable.

To submit your book to be featured on SpecFicPick, email specficpick@yahoo.com with "Author Spotlight: (YOUR NAME)" in the subject line and the Amazon US link to your book in the description. Please enter the name you write under. If your book meets the requirements, we will let you know what information we'll need to feature you on SpecFicPick. Please do not submit more than one book at a time; wait for a response regarding one book before submitting another. Please be patient in waiting for a response. We get many requests but will try to respond within two weeks. If you do not hear back from us after one month, feel free to query as we may not have received your submission.

Reviews

It is our intention to soon begin posting book reviews. SpecFicPick does not respond to unsolicited review requests. Please do not contact us asking for one. If, however, you would like to write a review for us, please email specficpick@yahoo.com with "Review: (TITLE OF REVIEWED BOOK)" in the subject line and the review in the body of the email. We want only thoughtful, literate reviews of up to 750 words. All published reviews will include an author's bio and links to your website/blog/book(s).

Articles

We will consider publishing articles on the topic of speculative fiction. We will consider articles published elsewhere, providing you own the rights to the article. Please email specficpick@yahoo.com with "Article: (TITLE OF ARTICLE)" in the subject line and the article in the body of the email, not as an attachment. We want only thoughtful, literate articles of up to 1000 words. All published articles will include an author's bio and links to your website/blog/book(s).

A mention on SpecFicPick does not in any way imply a guarantee as to the quality of the book or reading experience, and readers must, based on the description, sample and reviews, judge for themselves whether or not they will find a work to be of interest.
